Tap The Talent for the Dreamgiver!

This week in our VCOP sessions we are looking at this picture of the Dreamgiver, ready for Big Write on Friday.

This morning we did an activity called 'Tap The Talent'.  We have to go round each other with our whiteboards and get 5 different adjectives to describe the picture, by 'tapping each others talent'! We then used these words to make our own sentences.

Here we are 'Taping the Talent'.

The Dreamgiver

This week in literacy we are using the story of 'The Dreamgiver' to support us in our writing. We began our lesson by closing our eyes and imagining that we were asleep and having the best dream we could imagine.

We then watched the story and started to think about what kind of Dreamgivers there may be. We also talked about nightmares and why the nightmare happened in the story. We designed our own Dreamgiver and thought about what our dream egg would be cracked onto in our bedroom. Here is the story you can watch at home!

Big Write Star of the Week!

Well done Matthew! You were this weeks Big Write star!!! You used great adjectives in your writing, as well as keeping it beautiful and neatly presented. You also included speech marks correctly and exclamation marks! Well done!

A Peak Into One Of Our ICT Lessons

These next couple of weeks we are going to be making our newspaper articles using 'Purple Mash' all about the Great Fire Of London. We have to try and remember the main events of the fire and use the programme to add text, pictures and clipart images.

It was our first lesson on this last Wednesday. Here we are in the ICT suite in action.

The Purple Mash website is here if you want to have a go at home....

Our Topic... The Great Fire Of London

Our topic for this half term if The Great Fire Of London and we began to start learning all about this historic event in our topic work this week. Can you remember what date it started on?

We began by producing some super artwork using 2 different techniques, batik and watercolour. Batik is a type of artwork which involves using wax on a piece of material and then washing over it with a watery paint. We produced some super pieces that are going to make a fantastic, colourful display in our classroom!

Here are a few photos from just one of the lessons this week... this is the website we have been looking at in class too... Click HERE
